Despite jumping right, his engine saw him just pipped by a short head. He holds an entry in a Grade 1 novice hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas, which shows the regard he is held in. Timmy Tuesday hung badly left in Punchestown, but is better judged on a third at Cork on his penultimate start. Littel Flour raced prominently for a long way before coming in third in a first-time tongue-strap at Galway in October. She has ability as she was beaten by a neck in a Down Royal bumper last year. Ifiwerearichman led throughout in Clonmel before dropping to third, which wasn't a bad effort.

KNOCKANARD LADY stayed on well over 2m4f in Cork, but was unable to reel in the winner. That was a creditable performance, though, as she was some 13 lengths clear of the third horse. This slightly longer trip promises to suit her well. She has a bumper victory in her locker, so she knows where the winning post is. Walk In The Brise weakened quickly when a beaten favourite in fourth on hurdling debut at Cork. That was her first sub-par run, but there was an excuse as she returned with a leg wound. She has notable bumper form, including when winning at Downpatrick in June. Drying ground will be to her advantage. Gaoth Chuil was a wide-margin winner of a Tipperary bumper in June. She has shown ability in three hurdle races since and is likely to put a good shift in. Jenny Flex could have a say in this company.

ROBYNDEGLORY dropped into this grade at Limerick and showed a welcome return to form with a third place. That was over the minimum trip, but this 2m5f is much more to her liking. Liam McKenna takes 7lb off her back again and she has a good chance. Game And Glory won over a similar trip at this track in October and her subsequent third at Thurles was in a higher grade, so she is respected. Carrig Carol was a decisive winner over an extended 2m3f at Fairyhouse and the way she stayed on bodes well for this assignment. She is only 3lb higher in the weights as jockey Brian Lawless is able to claim his full 7lb in this race. Knocknagappagh has to bounce back from a disappointing run at Ballinrobe in August, but that is feasible off a break.

Gordon Elliott looks to have found a good opportunity for ARCTIC AMBITION. Now rated 105 over the larger obstacles after a recent win at Thurles, his hurdles mark is all of 19lb lower. Successful on his most recent visit to Tramore, the seven-year-old should prove hard to beat. Getaway Abbey was a good third on testing ground at Limerick in March and she is given second preference with Kieran Buckley taking 5lb off. While her recent efforts weren't as encouraging, she may just need a good cut in the ground to be seen at her best. Ishan is an unexposed four-year-old with just five runs to her name and she is an interesting contender for Sam Curling. Carrigeen Castle came in for plenty of support prior to his run at Clonmel in March, but could only manage a disappointing seventh. The Jim Dreaper trained six-year-old could give a good account of himself here, while others for the shortlist are recent Limerick runner-up Cheerful Chap and the Ken Budds-trained Esthers Marvel.

Davy Russell hasn't had too many rides for anyone other than Gordon Elliott in recent times, so his booking on INDIE BELLE is of definite interest. Trained locally by Robert Widger, she was really up against it in a Listed contest at Thurles on Thursday, unsurprisingly finishing last of five. She was far from disgraced, though, and that experience should stand to her. In much calmer waters now, a bold bid looks likely. A winner here in October, Doyouthinkso is sure to have plenty of supporters on what will be his debut over fences. Danny Mullins rides the So You Think gelding and it will be disappointing if he is not involved towards the business end. Who's Houdini is a full-brother to Grade 3 winner Roseys Hollow. A solid third on his most recent start at Gowran, it will be interesting to see if he can build on that performance. Pictures Of Home is best watched returning from a lengthy absence, while Malinas Glory, Kingston Kid and Prince Zaltar are others for the shortlist.

With blinkers deployed for the first time, WALKING THE WALK might finally be able to get his head in front. The seven-year-old did win a point-to-point on his third start back in February of 2020 but has gone 25 track runs without success since. Beaten by just a nose at Downpatrick in October, on his debut for Gordon Elliott, he again had to settle for minor honours on his two most recent starts. Eddies Pride finally made the breakthrough on her 30th outing at Fairyhouse last month and she should give a good account of herself with Gary Noonan taking a valuable 7lb off. Courting Vickie is another recent winner in the line-up and she too is a leading contender. Kings Halo has some snippets of form and it will be interesting to see how he fares. Others for the shortlist are admirable veteran Garrai Phaidin and top-weight Ocojohn.

With the fourth race named in the trainer's honour, it might be worth taking a chance on John Kiely's newcomer WALK OUT. Leading lady rider Maxine O'Sullivan has been booked to partner the four-year-old, who is out of Grade 2 winner Violin Davis. She has already produced a five-time winner in the shape of Minella Charmer, who is in fact a full-brother to the selection. Sent off favourite on his racecourse debut, Cardamon Hill finished second to a stable companion and should come on plenty for that experience. A case can be made for plenty of others, with Tomas O Maille one of the more obvious contenders. He filled the runner-up spot on his most recent outings at Galway and Sligo, and it will come as no surprise if he manages to go a place better. Mote Park disappointed on debut at Cork, but warrants respect coming from the Willie Mullins yard, while Jody Townend is an interesting jockey booking on newcomer The Bridge House.
