DELTA WORK has thrived going down the cross country route, denying former stablemate Tiger Roll a fairytale finish in a thrilling contest at the Festival before taking third in the Grand National. Gordon Elliott's five-time Grade 1 winner returned with a success over the banks at Punchestown and despite the fact he gives 19lb and upwards to his rivals, is expected to be a cut above the opposition. Back On The Lash won over C&D at the November meeting last year and returns following a fine third over conventional fences here. Diesel D'Allier and Plan Of Attack, first and third 12 months ago, are both capable of decent showings too.
Prediction : 1st Delta Work 2nd Back On The Lash 3rd Diesel DAllier

Attacca won nicely on his hurdling bow at Kempton, with the manner of victory suggesting a stiffer test of stamina would see him in a better light. He will need to step forward, though, with the likes of GENTLE SLOPES, a Listed bumper winner here last month, and Master Chewy in opposition. The latter would have likely won at Ascot were it not for an unfortunate mishap at the last and he commands the utmost respect, but Milton Harris' representative just shades the vote. The winner of a Sedgefield bumper, he bounced back from finishing fifth here in October, when not appreciating a steady pace, and connections believe the five-year-old can make his mark in Graded company.
Prediction : 1st Gentle Slopes 2nd Master Chewy 3rd Attacca

Mister Coffey ran a fine race to fill the runner-up spot in the Kim Muir, having been badly hampered early on, before things didn't quite go to plan in the Topham. Despite only four going to post, he does appear to face a stiff enough task on his return and preference is for GREEN VAULT. His yard claimed this contest with subsequent Festival winner Corach Rambler 12 months ago and the six-year-old, who has clearly relished going chasing, hasn't been troubled to triumph at Hexham and Ayr. Hidden Heroics made the perfect start over fences at Exeter and is likely to be the main threat.
Prediction : 1st Green Vault 2nd Hidden Heroics 3rd Mister Coffey

Gazette Bourgeoise made a pleasing enough return to action when runner-up at Uttoxeter on her chasing bow and the nature of that run left the impression there would be more to come from her. LEGENDS RYDE drops in grade following a distant third in Listed company at Market Rasen, though, and now rated just 4lb above her last winning mark, she gets the nod. Hawthorn Cottage is just one other to bear in mind.
Prediction : 1st Legends Ryde 2nd Gazette Bourgeoise 3rd Hawthorn Cottage

Commodore has to shoulder joint-top weight and has been off since completing the Grand National course in April, but he bolted up in this contest 12 months ago, albeit off a 9lb lower mark, and should not be taken lightly in this year's renewal. However, BROKEN QUEST shaped as though he needed his first appearance for four months at Chepstow and then registered a much-improved second over 2m4f at this venue. He can progress again now stepping back up in trip. Switch Hitter should not be dismissed for powerful connections.
Prediction : 1st Broken Quest 2nd Commodore 3rd Switch Hitter

Although MULLENBEG needs to shoulder a 7lb penalty for her recent Ludlow stroll, she has gone from strength to strength over hurdles and looks to have every chance of rounding out the four-timer. Le Patron is interesting on his UK debut having shown a decent level of form in France, and Gary Moore fits a hood for his handicap bow. Punctuation made it three wins on the spin since switching to Fergal O'Brien when battling on gamely at Uttoxeter and should give another good account of himself.
Prediction : 1st Mullenbeg 2nd Punctuation 3rd Le Patron

Nicky Henderson appears to hold the key to this race, with DUSART and Captain Morgs obvious contenders. Preference is for the former, who returns to hurdles for his reappearance after a successful chasing campaign. He showed high-class form in both starts over the smaller obstacles and is unbeaten first time out. Captain Morgs returned after having a wind operation to go down narrowly to stablemate Call Me Lord at Kempton, and that form has been franked since. Uhtred could relish this step up in trip and is another to note.
Prediction : 1st Dusart 2nd Captain Morgs 3rd Uhtred
