The Roger Varian trained MANAAFITH (best priced at 15/8) disappointed on her previous start at Newmarket but she should appreciate this return to the AW. The three-year-old has won all three of her starts on the AW including a fillies’ handicap at Kempton in September off a mark of 84. She won impressively by two lengths that day on her first start for 307 days and earnt herself a 7lb rise from the handicapper.

The combination of the bounce factor, a return to turf, the drop to 6f for the first time or the step up in class to a listed race worked against Manaafith last time at Newmarket but this race should suit her a lot better. It is back on the AW, over 7f and is also dropped down in grade to a Class 3 0-90 handicap following a 63 day break. She travels strongly in her races so Stall 9 shouldn’t be a problem and I expect her to bounce back to form under Jim Crowley.
