Venetia Williams has won this race for the past three years and looks to have every chance of extending that run with FLOWING CADENZA this time around. She was a respectable runner-up on her first start for the yard at Chepstow last month and improvement is likely. Credo was a long way in front of the selection last time, but she had the benefit of a previous run and has been raised 13lb for that latest performance. Glorious Lady won with any amount in hand when sauntering to success at Worcester in October and warrants respect.

PADDYS MOTORBIKE displayed great heart to win at Aintree when last seen in May and, having gone well fresh in the past, he is taken to pick up where he left off. The Sam Thomas-trained gelding has shown improved form since being fitted with cheekpieces and, from only a 4lb higher mark than last time, he still looks nicely treated. The lightly-raced Go Dante drops in class and merits serious consideration, while Franco D'Aunou and Risk D'Argent are others to consider.

MORIKO DE VASSY is open to stacks more progress and is entitled to be sharper after his seasonal reappearance at Wetherby last month. Nudged up 2lb for a narrow defeat there, the gelding is fancied to be hard to beat back at the scene of his hurdles debut win last year. Cap Du Mathan is an obvious threat but faces a stiff test in conceding weight to the selection. Black Poppy edges out Trapista as the one more likely to spring a surprise.

In this competitive contest, marginal preference is for CHLOE'S COURT, who was denied by a small margin when runner-up at Lingfield last time. Despite being headed close home, the Robert Walford-trained mare shaped as if this step back up in trip may suit and she gets the nod. Pottlerath has been a consistent customer of late and rates the most immediate danger after a gallant effort when second over C&D on his latest outing. Shantou Sunset is another to consider.
