I’ve been with Pocket The Packet since his winning run started back in October and George Boughey has to be praised for his placement of this horse but he is 4lb higher here (now up 24lb in five runs) and is facing a much better calibre of horse. He has won two Class 6’s the last twice and steps into Class 4 company now which will be a much sterner test of his credentials.

I can see him running well but I prefer the chances of ELEGANT CHARM for Charlie Appleby. This Exceed and Excel filly is improving with experience and reversed that form with Tenjin to get her head in front at Kempton last month. She showed a decent engine to get back up and run on well so even up 7lb she looks one to keep on side. Cariad Angel ran a cracker when runner-up at Newcastle and if improving now sent handicapping would also have to be noted.

Uncle Mo colt SUPER MO kept on well to finish second at Kempton when last seen back in the summer. Put away since he is likely to have improved a fair bit and this could be a good opportunity for him to go one better. He is out of an unraced close relative of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Arazi so could clearly prove a cut above this level in time. Trojan Spirit and Inny Lad could go forward and make this a decent test so if he is fit enough to do himself justice he will have a good target to run down late.

Cavern Club has race-fitness on side having finished a good third at Wolverhampton last month. He has first-time cheekpieces on now with Buick up so may well be the danger but likely needs to improve. Protectionist colt Pfingstberg is the most interesting of the three debutants but the market should be revealing especially from that yard.
