GYTO Sunday Notebook Double

Back over hurdles it’s easy to see why the money is coming for MARVEL FAN at Thurles on Sunday. This mare did take a tumble when last seen over timber at Fairyhouse but she was in the process of running a very good race and prior to that got within a neck of success. She won over hurdles this time last year at Gowran, staying on strongly. This doesn’t look to have any real strength in depth so it will be disappointing if she can’t at the very least go close. Zoffanien scored at Killarney back in the summer and wasn’t disgraced at Cheltenham last time so might run well for a long way. Blanketontheground continues to give a good account and she has won over C&D in the past so definitely looms as one of the dangers. Ney won at Cork last time and has to be respected but this is tougher.

Back from a break ARYAAH was sent off at 28/1 at this track last week but he ran a cracker staying on well to grab third. He travelled strongly into that race and just looked a little tapped for toe in the closing stages. Stepping out to a mile and a half for the first time should suit on that evidence and it is no surprise to see him prominent in the betting here with that under his belt. He runs off the same mark as that was an amateur jockeys’ race and I can’t see how he doesn’t go close. I backed Selfish Brian at Southwell last week and he got within half a length of victory there. If this doesn’t come too soon then he will be the danger but he clearly doesn’t find winning easy. Corsini wasn’t disgraced on debut for her new yard when fifth at Lingfield and going back up in trip she is also worth a second look.
