The daughter of Cacique may be winless in seven starts over hurdles but some of those efforts were at a high level, including when runner-up in the Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival. Narrowly denied over C&D last month, Passionate Pursuit can give the selection most to think about along with impressive Lingfield winner Endless Escape, who carries a 7lb penalty.

A three-time winner at this track, SIZABLE SAM nearly put it all together over fences at Exeter last month when narrowly denied over three miles. The extra furlong can see him go one better here and he is preferred to the admirable veteran Step Back and Great D'Ange, who was a taking winner at Huntingdon earlier in the month. The consistent Minella Buster is likely to be thereabouts as well as Planned Paradise, who proved himself over further at Sandown on his most recent outing.

MIDNIGHT MIDGE arrives here on the back of two victories at Taunton and a 5lb rise for the most recent of those victories may not be enough to stop him from making it a hat-trick. Ede'iffs Elton made the frame at Exeter last time and could do so once again, while Runswick Bay and Huelgoat are others who make the shortlist.

JARAMILLO has shown plenty of promise on his last couple of starts and the switch to handicap company could see the four-year-old get off the mark over hurdles. That said, Vengeance is an obvious threat to the selection following an encouraging effort at Fontwell last time. Leissieres Express remains unexposed and should not be underestimated, while First Quest is the pick of the remainder.

Steal A March returned from a break to finish second at Newbury and the seven-year-old is expected to be in the mix once again, despite a 4lb rise for that performance. However, BARBADOS BUCK'S, who was one place behind Nicky Henderson's gelding in the aforementioned contest, is taken to reverse that form. He showed little last season but that return to action was a step in the right direction and he is entitled to improve on this occasion. Umbrigado should be happier back over the smaller obstacles following a below-par effort in the Paddy Power Gold Cup, while others to note include Annual Invictus and Eminent Poet.

CHOCCABLOC makes plenty of appeal based on pedigree, with his dam having won on her bumper debut before placing in a Grade 2, and the four-year-old appears to be the first pick of the stable's two runners. Steel Ally shaped with a fair amount of promise when runner-up at Chepstow in October and is respected along with Way Out, who has placed on both bumper appearances to date, and Tinklers Hill.
