MOON HUNTER joined the Henry Daly yard after winning a point-to-point at Eyton-on-Severn and he made a good impression on his hurdling debut at Wetherby last month, beating a subsequent winner by two and a quarter lengths. He can only improve for that experience and gets the vote in what looks an above-average novices' hurdle. Other hurdle scorers Theatre Man and Val Dancer must enter calculations, while Hands Off and Hermino Aa add further spice to the race.

DATSALRIGHTGINO has done little wrong in three chase appearances to date and the form of his last-time-out third at Newbury took a timely boost when the fifth, Balco Coastal, came out and bolted up at Kempton on Boxing Day. He remains open to further improvement and looks to have a big chance in this competitive handicap. Haddex Des Obeaux jumped slightly left when runner-up at Kempton latest and going this way round may suit him better, while Barrichello must also come into the reckoning.

Arclight is a 1m Flat winner and is sure to have plenty of supporters on her hurdling/stable debut for Nicky Henderson, but a chance is taken on PRETENDING. She has won and finished runner-up from just four starts on the level and looks the type that could make up into a smart hurdler. Eclairant Le Monde and Chicago Gal are already proven in this sphere and warrant respect, while Ardbraccan and Lady Valentine also merit some consideration.

Erne River has faced stiff tests against classy opposition over fences and may appreciate these calmer waters back over hurdles, while Uhtred is respected and has a live chance judged on his peak efforts from his time in Ireland. However, WALKING ON AIR is less exposed and, given that he was thought good enough to be pitched into a Grade 1 at Aintree in April, it's safe to assume there is a lot more to come from Nicky Henderson's gelding.

GESSKILLE will be hard to beat if he runs to the same level as his gallant seconds in the Grand Sefton and the Becher Chase at Aintree earlier in the campaign. He was highly consistent in this discipline during his time in France and has made a smooth transition for his new connections. Coeur Serein is progressive and also considered, while Burrows Diamond merits respect despite going up 7lb for a gutsy success at Wetherby 26 days ago.

A relatively small, yet competitive field of five go to post for this year's Silver Vase in which preference is for the Venetia Williams-trained PINK LEGEND. She likely needed her seasonal debut at in the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon earlier this month and could bounce back now eased in grade, but Zambella bolted up in Listed company at Carlisle last time out and seems a big threat to the selection. Annie Mc is another to consider despite finishing well behind Nigel Twiston Davies' inmate in third most recently.

A wide-open contest in which a chance can be taken with the class-dropping TROLLEY BOY. He shown plenty of promise prior to being well held in a hotter handicap hurdle at Wincanton earlier this month and this ease in grade can see him regain the winning thread, but Kracka Nut remains unexposed and could leave behind a disappointing display at Wetherby last time out. Surtitle makes his return to action following a promising third at Newbury in April and completes the shortlist.
