Despite not jumping the last cleanly NOTLONGTILLMAY still managed to make a winning chase debut on first start for his new yard at Wetherby back in November. That coupled with his hurdles win at Fontwell for Chris Gordon means he arrives here chasing a hat-trick now. A 4lb rise looks lenient and he has been pitched into the right contest to try and follow up.

Parliament Hill won by six lengths at Wetherby last time but he can make mistakes and an 8lb rise in a better race might leave him vulnerable. Barrichello was progressive over hurdles last season winning four times and while he shaped with encouragement when third to Thunder Rock at Uttoxeter he failed to back that up at Bangor when the money was down. Might need more experience before he comes good. Diamond State won at this track last time but is 3lb out the weights here.

C&D winner BERNARD SPIERPOINT might be worth chancing on debut for Darryll Holland. He looked a useful horse at this level bringing up a hat-trick of wins at Southwell this time last year and while he has been beaten plenty since he is now well treated at these weights and if his new surroundings spark a return to form he would have a huge chance. He is still just a six-years-olds so should be making an impact sooner rather than later.

Nellie French finished fourth behind Man On A Mission and that winner has gone in again since so the form is solid. Hot Hot Hot was a place behind the latter last time but was slowly away and should strip fitter so might reverse that form here. Alya’s Gold Award is still unexposed but she looks the pace angle in here and might end up setting it up for the selection so is perhaps best watched for the time being.
