However, the Olly Murphy-inmate will need to settle better if he wishes to see out this longer trip. Barrichello is still open to improvement in this sphere and may fend off Diamond State for the minor spoils.

Scots Poet and Smart Lass finished third and fourth respectively over today's C&D 29 days ago and may prove the chief threats to the selection in a race where solid form is thin on the ground.

Jimmy Rabbitte was running a big race when falling four out here in November and he could go well, though the drop in trip could see him outpaced early on. Arthur's Quay has a 7lb penalty after winning over this trip at Catterick and can go close again, but HOLD ONTO THE LINE could have the edge. A winner on three of his four starts here, he only scored narrowly on his chasing debut over further but may improve after that first start since wind surgery and if he has the early speed needed, he may add to his tally.

Some interesting sorts go to war here, with Kingston Bridge looking to successfully give weight away after scoring at Kelso and going close when beaten a length at Ayr. ACT OF AUTHORITY is an interesting newcomer who won his only point-to-point at Lisronagh in March before changing hands for 200,000 pounds the following month. The third has won since to frank the form and if he has the speed for this trip, he should go well. Nefyn Dawn was supported on his first start when fourth at Huntingdon and is another to consider, assuming he improves for the experience.
