UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

LITTLE QUEENIE won over six furlongs here last spring but on overall form including when runner-up to the progressive Ano Syra in a valuable handicap at the Curragh, is probably best suited by the minimum trip. She again showed plenty of pace when beaten a neck by Inishmot Prince here last month, with a number of these rivals behind, and remains on a competitive mark. That was Inishmot Prince's fifth course win, which includes three at this distance, and he remains a serious threat. Primo Uomo recorded his fourth C&D win last time when slamming Collective Power by over three lengths but is now on a 12lb higher mark.

LINUS LARRABEE has gained all four career wins over this C&D and Sorcha Woods has got a good tune out of him this winter season winning twice. The Eddie Lynam-trained gelding is prone to slow starts and lost any chance out of the stalls last time. Hopefully he will break away reasonably here on his first outing in a claimer. Capuchinero has progressed on his latest two outings here over six and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the return to seven, while Tawaazon appeared to find a mile too far here last time. Stablemate Ghumama takes a big drop in distance but comes out best at the weights. James McAuley is always well represented here in claimers and there will be a blaze of his orange colours with six declared. The market should help in providing a pecking order among the squad.

HIGHTIMEYOUWON has dropped to an attractive mark and is one of three strong contenders here for Ado McGuinness. The selection won three times for Dermot Weld, including a valuable handicap over this trip at Cork, and held a career high mark of 94 less than 18 months ago. He's shown definite promise in two outings for current connections over C&D this winter including when finishing strongly behind Is That Love last month, while Hodd's Girl has won three times since switching yards last summer. Jaafel is on a hat-trick after scoring twice here over a mile but the combination of a cumulative rise of 15lb and step back in trip is difficult to overcome. Inflection Point has enjoyed a definite upturn since joining John McConnell this winter, while Benavente shaped well here on his penultimate start.

VIKKI WALL made a promising debut for Gavin Cromwell in a fillies maiden over this C&D in November. The daughter of Tamayuz had obviously shown ability at home as she was well supported in the market and, given normal improvement, this looks a nice opportunity to open her account. Behind Enemy Lines cost 90,000 guineas as a yearling and was well-backed on his only start at the Curragh showing inexperience in mid-division. He could progress significantly with that run under his belt. Avondale also made an encouraging start here over a mile before Christmas. His dam won over 1m3f in France so it will be interesting to see how he copes with this drop in trip.

MALAYSIAN has dropped down to a competitive mark here this winter and can gain a second C&D win. She just held off Hurricane Helen in a blanket finish last month and should appreciate the return to a mile after staying on well behind Bellick. Cheers Again landed a gamble when reappearing after a summer break over C&D last month. The Paul Flynn-trained gelding won with quite a bit in hand and could well progress further with just five career starts under his belt, but will need to as the handicapper has dished out a 16lb hike in the ratings. Tynamite was over five lengths back in third and is a consistent sort in this grade, while The Bog Bank and Reverberation are others to consider.

FENDI gets the vote in a low grade handicap. The selection filled the runner-up spot in a claiming maiden at Tipperary last summer and has been generally consistent since, notably finishing well when a close third behind Happenstance over seven here last time with Trident Star just a half-length away in fourth. The latter needs to bounce back after a couple of below par efforts, while Scat Maggie faded in the closing stages on her handicap debut in that Happenstance race and may struggle over this trip. Reigles is the only winner in the line-up having won a nursery over a similar trip at Bellewstown in September but the Ado McGuinness-trained filly has failed to recapture that form in four subsequent outings.

TWO TWO TIME has been tried over a variety of trips and has dropped down to an attractive mark. The Ado McGuinness-trained filly was patiently ridden when third to Steps In The Sand over C&D last month and can reverse those places on these revised terms. Matilda With Me gained a fourth career win on her penultimate start over an extended 10 furlongs but seemed to find this trip a shade too far last time when third to Sand Castle. Anjah was just over two lengths back in fourth but the 24-race maiden never got involved subsequently when slowly away over a shorter trip. Meritorious enjoyed the drop to this grade for the first time when going close on his latest start but that was over two miles.

NEVER MISTABEAT won twice here over an extended 10 furlongs and was sidelined for well over a year before a promising return last month when staying on nicely into third behind Mr Mills. He's gone close here before over this trip and shouldn't be inconvenienced by the step up to 1m4f. Gracesolution went up a cumulative 12lb for wins at Sligo and Killarney last summer and was far from disgraced when returning to this surface last month. Maura's Gift had Mosaaheb back in fourth when scoring over C&D on her penultimate start while others to consider are Lord Park, who has dropped to what should be a competitive mark, and the dual purpose Muntahez.
