APPRECIATE IT is going to be a short price here and should make it two from two over fences. The 2021 Supreme Novices' winner was a cosy victor on his chase debut at Punchestown last month and it's hard to see the runner-up Top Bandit turning the tables now. We are unlikely to learn much more, given a clear round here, and stiffer tests will await the Jeremy gelding. Top Bandit looks the most likely of his four rivals to chase him home again. Gaelic Arc was set a stiff task on his chase debut when running in a Grade 2 contest at Punchestown and may be the one to fill the placings now.

BENEFIT RUN may prove the answer in a tricky looking contest. Ross O'Sullivan's charge ran well behind easy winner Monte Igueldo over in Musselburgh and looks on a competitive mark back on 116. He ran really well off this rating at Galway. Kildorrery is fairly consistent but not always the easiest to win with. He is capable of a big run if things fall his way. Railway Hurricane was well beaten last time at Leopardstown but had run a big race at Cheltenham prior to that and has a chance in this company. Indiana Jones takes a big drop in trip and that would be a slight concern.

Willie Mullins has a great record in this race and can strike again with the exciting GRANGECLARE WEST. Connections had to be patient with the Presenting gelding after paying £430,000 for him after his point-to-point success. He won his bumper in fine style in May 2021 and reappeared to take his maiden hurdle with ease at Navan in late November. Mullins admitted then that he had surprised him with his manner of victory and the now seven-year-old looks a class act. Gordon Elliott has won four of the last six runnings of the race and Irish Point would appear to be his main hope this year. The Joshua Tree gelding was a Grade 1 bumper winner in France and after a cosy maiden hurdle win at Cork he ran a cracker in the Royal Bond when just pipped late on by Marine Nationale. He has to be a big danger. The unbeaten Inothewayurthinkin is another for the shortlist. He beat a nice sort in Imagine, who re-opposes, at Gowran in late November and is open to more improvement going up in trip.

HUNTERS YARN is a triple bumper winner who has good recent hurdles form. He has yet to show star qualities in two maiden hurdles (his first attempt was at 2m5f) and while a beaten favourite at Punchestown in November, he nonetheless ran to a good level. Found A Fifty, Solskjaer's first jumps runner, was left clear to win his debut point-to-point and ran well on bumper debut. He needs to improve to beat the selection but that recent Navan run was his first for 350 days and progression is likely. Tophill Low showed promise behind the selection on debut in November and should improve. Quirke's Gate, by a top stallion, is long absent but showed promise in winter 2021 while Glenmalure Flyer is her soccer syndicate's first runner but is probably best watched on debut.

CADATHARLA ought to be competitive on handicap debut, having shown promise in maidens. By a leading jumps sire and out of a Galileo-sired mare, he has contested smart maiden hurdles, ran well behind Arctic Bresil at Cork and is open to progression from a manageable rating in a winneable race. If something happens Cadatharla, Chainofconsequence has strong claims, having won on testing ground in November. He faded late-on at Limerick over Christmas but should run to his rating. Low Lie The Fields hasn't won for two years and was held when blundering at Cork but had previously run well in November and is suited by testing ground. Millen To One was beaten a long distance at Leopardstown over Christmas and is on a retrieval mission reverting to hurdles from a higher rating.

SATTAM is Dermot Weld's first bumper runner since Neptune in 2018/19 and a capable claimer rides. Sold by Shadwell for 35,000gns in a February dispersal, he was presumably a backward type but his unraced dam is a sibling to seven winners, some high-class stayers, and being by Sea The Stars should stay national hunt distances. Ankud, out of an unraced half-sister to a 5f Group 2 winner, was listed 'in-training' when withdrawn from an October 2021 Shadwell sale and has joined a top yard. Boots And Jeans' winning dam descends from a top Aga Khan pedigree while Celebrating Ethel's dam is a half-sister to a Group 1 winner. Cut The Rope, by Sea The Stars, was a E20,000 purchase in November 2021. Cappucino represents a yard which does well in bumpers while Final Decision was well enough held at Doncaster. D Art D Art, under Patrick Mullins, has a useful French pedigree.
