I said after he won at Chelmsford that now he has worked out how to win that CAPITAL THEORY might go on a winning sequence and that is exactly what has happened. He showed a good attitude to prevail over a mile and a quarter here under Buick last month and again showed a gutsy attitude to prevail at Wolverhampton last time. He is eyeing up a four-timer now and if the step up to a mile and a half plays to his strengths then he will be hard to beat once more. He is up another 4lb but there is a strong likelihood of more to come yet. Base Note won at Wolverhampton and then went down fighting missing out by a head last time. He shoulders top-weight here but is clearly the biggest danger to the selection. Pirate King loves this C&D having won four times over it and was left poorly placed behind Base Note last time so might run better than that here.

Despite taking a walk in the market SATIN SNAKE ran a cracker over C&D last week, failing by just a short head at the line. He confirmed that form over Wizarding and running off the same mark here must have a great chance of striking again while the iron is hot. In hindsight he was probably sent for home a bit too soon last time so if he can delay his effort here he is set to take a bit of beating. May Night likes this track and was very much back to form going down just a head at Chelmsford last time. He looks set to run well so should put up the most resistance. Billy Mill arrives here in winning form having sprung a 28/1 surprise at Newcastle when last seen back in September. If he is in the same form he shouldn’t be dismissed but he will need to prove his fitness against some in-form types. Maysong wasn’t disgraced when last seen but this is tough.
