This is a good race with the likes of Ha D’or and Impervious set to put up plenty of resistance but I’m keen to side with JOURNEY WITH ME for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore. He was a very talented hurdle winning two of his four starts and despite a blip on chase debut where he fell at Gowran Park he was quickly able to bounce back winning by 13 lengths at Naas last month. That was impressive especially the way he travelled and despite a mistake at the last he was firmly in command. The third Flame Bearer won by 38 lengths yesterday so the form has been well advertised since. He is open to plenty of improvement and I’m expecting him to be hard to beat. Ha D’or also impressed winning by 11 lengths on chase debut at Fairyhouse but that form has been knocked since and he might be beatable. I actually think Impervious could be a greater danger.

Despite failing to give her true running at Haydock last time I’m going to chance STAINSBY GIRL bouncing back. She ran out a convincing winner of this last year making all the running and could prove hard to catch once more. She is higher in the weights but that’s because she won so well on reappearance and she is clearly capable of another big performance here. I think she’ll go forward and in this dead ground she might not come back to them. Beat Box ran on well for second on return and built on that to win at Ayr. This is more competitive though and a 7lb rise definitely demands more of him especially if he concedes ground again here. Wor Verge won twice at Carlisle in October but let backers down on final start back in November and despite being a C&D winner has a bit to prove. Thereisnodoubt doesn’t win that often but looks best of the rest.
