Another to note is Glengeever, who could improve for the step up in trip.

Tile Tapper finished a good second to Remastered over C&D at the Christmas meeting and demands the utmost respect along with Enrilo, who has dropped to a fair mark, though a poor completion rate in recent starts would have to be a cause for concern. Third in the Becher after occupying the same position in the Grand Sefton, Laura Morgan's charge is able to compete from an unchanged figure and could still have more to offer.

Paul Nicholls is no stranger to success in this contest, landing two of the last three renewals, and he appears to have another leading contender in the shape of PIC D'ORHY. The eight-year-old has been on top form this season, winning both of his starts. He was impressive from the front in the Peterborough Chase at Huntingdon and is fancied to complete the hat-trick with further improvement likely. Paint The Dream must be respected, while Saint Calvados is expected to reverse Ascot form with Coole Cody.

A talented performer on the Flat, the returning STAG HORN landed Grade 2 honours at Warwick last January before competing at the top level at Cheltenham and Aintree. A mark of 135 looks workable and he remains unexposed in this sphere. Outlaw Peter bolted up at Exeter after his second in the Persian War and must be feared, along with West Balboa, who hit the crossbar on her Sandown comeback. Green Glory justified market support with something up his sleeve at Leopardstown, while last year's winner Cobblers Dream and Pentland Hills are just two others to consider.

Quick Draw was a cosy winner at Uttoxeter and a marginal drop in trip looks unlikely to stop him having a say in proceedings again, but he has gone up 6lb so a chance can be taken with SLATE HOUSE. Joe Tizzard's veteran, who was last seen coming to grief at the third-last in the Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham in November, likes it here and is now just 1lb above his last winning mark. The Edgar Wallace is another to note dropping in distance.

It could be worth taking another chance on HEAD LAW, who was well beaten in a hot handicap won by Knappers Hill at Sandown in April when seeking a four-timer. The Jonjo O'Neill-trained six-year-old bolted up on his penultimate outing at Southwell over this trip so might be capable of bouncing back on his return. Deere Mark makes his handicap debut following a comfortable win at Hereford last month and can give the selection plenty to think about. Minella Plus is another to consider.
