This will definitely be tougher stepping back into a Class 5 but the way JOHNNY BOOM has won the last twice gives me great optimism he can bring up the hat-trick. He came with a strong late run to start his winning sequence over a furlong shorter here last month and that form has been well advertised since with the second Bond Boy winning here two starts later. He was well found in the market again over C&D last time and he made no mistake getting on top in good style in the closing stages having been ridden patiently again. He is clearly thriving right now and a 5lb rise is unlikely to stop him despite this clearly being a sterner test of his credentials. He is actually still quite lightly raced when you dig deeper into his form and he could prove good value to maintain his unbeaten record at this track. New Approach colt Toophan conceded first run when a good second at Newcastle last time and if building on that again looks the most obvious danger to the selection. Hector’s Here likes it here and is another one likely to get competitive.
