In what looks a really winnable race I’m going to put up BOND BOY as the Value Tip on Tuesday. Now I know he isn’t a big price but you can have value in a favourite and I think that is the case here. He was a massive gamble when chinned by Johnny Boom on return at Wolverhampton and then fluffed his lines when well found in the market again at Kempton. Turned out the very next day by Mick Appleby he made no mistake back at Wolverhampton hitting the line hard.
He clearly has a decent engine and should prove better than this level in time. It has been a bit of a fact finding mission with him but 7f does look his optimum now and I can see him being one of the biggest market movers of the day. He is up just 3lb and ticks more boxes than most. Martin’s Brig has won his last two over track and trip and looks the danger but another 4lb rise up against a largely unexposed rival at this trip might just prove too much.
