In D'or was a creditable performer in France and placed twice over hurdles at Auteuil last spring, so he has to merit the utmost respect on his stable debut for Venetia Williams. However, IMPERIAL BEDE took a big step forward when keeping on for third on his hurdling bow last time out at Leicester over an extended 1m7f and a drop in class could see him build on that run. Etalon was a beaten favourite when filling the runner-up spot at Aintree last month and has to be of interest for powerful connections.
Prediction : 1st Imperial Bede 2nd Etalon 3rd In Dor

A fairly intriguing contest in which marginal preference is for the Dan Skelton-trained MYLESFROMWICKLOW. He bolted up in a point-to-point at Kinsale in October and has to rate a solid contender on his Rules bow. Regal Blue is another who looked unchallenged in a point contest at Ffos Las over 2m5f and can give the selection plenty to think about. Rouge De L'quest seeks further improvement following his recent fourth at this track last month and completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Mylesfromwicklow 2nd Regal Blue 3rd Rouge De Lquest

It is hard to look past FLOWING CADENZA, who arrives in this following an emphatic win at Hereford last month and an 8lb rise looks unlikely to stop her following up on this occasion. She also drops in class for this run, making her an even more appealing contender. Astra Via kept on well for third over 2m at this track over hurdles earlier this month and could benefit from a stiffer stamina test. White Hart Lady is another to consider.
Prediction : 1st Flowing Cadenza 2nd Astra Via 3rd White Hart Lady

BEAR GHYLLS may have disappointed last time out at Uttoxeter, but his placed effort at Carlisle before that is strong form, which was on the back of a 592-day absence. The eight-year-old should enjoy conditions and he can see off Interne De Sivola, who has yet to put it together in this sphere but arrives for an in-form stable. Dans Le Vent cannot be ruled out either.
Prediction : 1st Bear Ghylls 2nd Interne De Sivola 3rd Dans Le Vent

This can go the way of COME ON GRUFF, who shaped very well when placed at Kempton last time out. That was a return to form for Tom George's charge and the drop in trip could work a treat, with the mare Emmpressive Lady looking best placed to chase him home on her first start since last February. Iamastar is bound to come on for his first run in this country, while Ballyellis is a player based on the pick of his form.
Prediction : 1st Come On Gruff 2nd Emmpressive Lady 3rd Iamastar

WILLIAM PHILO emerged unscathed from a fall over fences at Lingfield in early December to put in a solid effort when turned out again quickly over timber at Uttoxeter on New Year's Eve. Set to race from just 3lb higher, he could be hard to beat in this company if stepping forward from that near miss. One Fer Mamma edges the next best tag despite having to give weight away to the rest. Sign Of War is lightly raced in recent times and may have more to offer too.
Prediction : 1st William Philo 2nd One Fer Mamma 3rd Sign Of War

BARRIER PEAKS has gradually improved since he returned after a wind operation last autumn and is an appealing option given the manner of of his breakthrough win over hurdles at Exeter last week. Assuming the quick reappearance is taken in its stride, David Pipe's gelding could be difficult to overhaul once again. Mr Craftsman doesn't have many miles on the clock and also appears to have more to offer having been nudged down 2lb since his latest outing. Half The Freedom and the first-time blinkered After The Fox are others to monitor in the betting.
Prediction : 1st Barrier Peaks 2nd Mr Craftsman 3rd Half The Freedom
