UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

ISOTTA could be worth chancing on her first run since the summer. She has switched to Adrian McGuinness after four runs for Ger Lyons. Her last outing saw her come home second over a similar trip in Bellewstown behind a horse who subsequently won at Listed level and was then campaigned in Group races. Jockey Adam Caffrey is proving to be good value for his 7lb claim. Mr Escobar was a morning-price mover ahead of his runner-up finish over C&D last month. He couldn't match the ready winner, but was nicely clear of the remainder. General Idea was cheaply bought out of William Haggas' stable in Britain. He is in good hands with Denis Hogan and should be given a market check ahead of his Irish debut. Global Export reverts to the Flat after a hurdling stint. On his last run on the level, he wasn't beaten far into fourth over 1m6f in Navan. He could come home stronger than most.

TA NA LA appeals over this trip. She wasn't at her best on her last run over 1m here but, prior to that, she posted two placed efforts over this trip. She has had more than a month off and could be freshened up. Billy Lee is a good booking. Pro Bono made an encouraging start to life with Cormac Farrell when beaten less than a length into fifth over C&D last month. That race was run at a good clip and he kept on at the finish. Jessica O'Gorman has been booked to claim 7lb off his back, and she was on board for his previous trainer when he was beaten a head into second over 1m4f at this track just over two months ago. Gemini Man showed an aptitude for this trip when a close third in November. Clever Capall put in an improved effort in sixth over C&D earlier this month and has the best draw in stall one.

Michael Halford's HAVANA PEARL looks well worth a step up in trip. The daughter of Irish and Epsom Derby winner Camelot hasn't been beaten far in her last three runs on the Polytrack. In addition, the handicapper has dropped her by 2lb. Slamadoor's form has been hit or miss but, on a going day, she is capable of having a big say as evidenced by being beaten a nose, a head and a short head into fourth over C&D last month. Knocknakilla kept on well for fourth over a shorter trip at this track last week. He has had a couple of cracks at this sort of distance and they haven't been wholly convincing, but this is a weak race.

CHAZZESMEE was dominant in a handicap over C&D last Friday and it is no surprise to see him turned out again under the 7lb penalty. He had an injury absence before reappearing with a solid fourth place at the Curragh in October. A return to the Polytrack then saw him brush his rivals aside by five lengths. Mulgrave signalled a return to form with a close fourth over 7f at this track in November. He has won twice before over C&D and is on a very appealing mark. He is one for each-way players to home in on. Skontonovski has been placed in his last two runs here and another solid showing is likely. Arcanears tries this trip for the first time and is not without a chance. Mullacash Buzz likes to get on with it and is ideally drawn to attack in stall one. Iva Feeling and Notforalongtime will have their supporters.

Eleven-time winner THE JAM MAN has won just once on the flat but is ideally suited by this distance. His last win was in the 2020 Troytown Chase and while he debuts on the all-weather, has winning form on fast turf ground so could be suited by today's surface and has won at this flat distance in the past. He has also been competing at a high level over jumps in recent times. Firstman might be able to cope with a 8lb higher mark than when winning last month, having arrived into Ireland rated 80, but steps up to this flat distance for the first time. Construct has won over this flat distance in the past and ran well over course and distance last month.

NO SPEED LIMIT was well beaten 14 days ago but drops markedly in grade. A six-time winner who is well suited by this distance, he competed against horses rated 88 in January but had previously won, at this grade, in December. Surviving Murmansk often tries new things and having failed in a December 2m3f soft-ground hurdle, showed plenty zip over six furlongs here recently. His rating has risen to 52 but could prove competitive. In-form The Cola Brazil has winning form at this distance but is 2lb higher, and without his helpful 10lb claimer, than when finishing second here 12 days ago. Bronze River was a good recent winner but has a belated first run at this distance.

BETRAYED has good recent form and first-time blinkers could bring about a smidgeon of improvement. She was three-parts of a length behind Zig Zag Zyggy here 12 days ago but that was over five furlongs, with her three wins being at today's distance, and is now 7lb better off. Zig Zag Zyggy has been running consistently well while Lexington Liberty, fourth in that recent race, could be better suited by returning to this distance but is nonetheless a 15-race maiden. Not Amused showed improved form in a recent course and distance handicap.

NINTH LIFE has good ability and seems well suited by this distance. He progressed from debut to run well over this distance 12 days, when failing to concede 12lb to the winner in what looked a useful maiden. Coolcalmncollected has won two recent course handicaps and clearly likes this surface, but steps up in distance. Probably unsuited by testing ground in his October runs, he could progress over this longer distance but nonetheless concedes 3lb to the selection. Stormy Entry, withdrawn from a breeze-up sale last May, missed the break when running well on debut in December and can get involved, stepping up a furlong. Miami Thunder, withdrawn from two 2022 breeze-up sales, is out of a Group 3-winning dam but is gelded for his debut while stablemate colt Grey Daze, a E10,000 foal, is out of an unplaced mare whose sister won a 1m4f Listed race.
