Tuesday Racing Tips from Steve Ryder

This looks a competitive 0-123 handicap but preference goes to ARCHIES CHARM (best priced at 7/2) who was unlucky to bump into a well handicapped rival last time. The Brian Hamilton trained eight-year-old has only won twice in 17 starts under rules but he has been running consistently well so far this season. He finished 2nd over this course and distance off a mark of 118 in November before finishing 3rd at Gowran Park on his next start. 

Archies Charm finished 2nd behind the well handicapped Seddon last time at Leopardstown and that rival is now rated 14lbs higher. Archies Charm runs here off only 1lb higher which seems lenient and I expect him to prove hard to beat with Ben Harvey claiming a handy 5lbs.

Bobby Dassler will no doubt prove popular on his stable debut for Tom Ward but preference instead goes to the Anthony Brittain trained ABNAA (best priced at 4/1) who runs here under a 5lb penalty following his recent course and distance success. The six-year-old bounced back from a couple of below par efforts at Newcastle to win here a week ago off a mark of 65. 

Abnaa won in impressive style by four lengths under Mark Winn that day and he will no doubt receive a bigger rise in the weights than the 5lb penalty he carries in this race. The jockey retains the ride and he should run well once again.

The booking of Billy Loughnane on TRIGGERED (best priced at 11/4) will hopefully mean he can get his head in front in this race following a string of near misses. The Mark Loughnane trained seven-year-old finished a close 2nd over this course and distance in December in a first time visor before finishing 4th at Chelmsford on his next start. 

Triggered finished a ½ length 2nd at Kempton a week ago under the inexperienced Megan Wingrove where he was an eyecatcher under tender handling late on. He runs here off the same mark of 61 but interestingly is now fitted with a first time eye shield in this race and he should prove hard to beat now he is dropped in class into a 0-60 handicap.
