Gordon Elliott won this a couple of years ago with the likeable Coko Beach and has won it twice in the past five years now. He saddles half the field for this renewal and perhaps his best chance is ESCARIA TEN in the McNeill Family colours. This horse has always threatened a big performance and looked to run a perfect prep race for this when beaten just 2 lengths by Darasso over a trip shorter than ideal. He has been put away since and should be spot on. He carries top-weight but he remains lightly raced over fences for his age and he should give Adian Heskin a great spin here. Pencilfulloflead can be quite one paced but his wins over Coko Beach and Latest Exhibition a couple of years ago read well and he should leave that Clonmel run behind and get competitive. Willie Mullins also saddles quite a few runners and Carefully Selected should get competitive. He won 3 from 4 over fences a couple of years ago and would have needed that return run at Leopardstown.
