Father Of Jazz may figure if a recent wind operation can unlock some improvement, while hurdling debutant Queens Highway wasn't disgraced when shouldering a double penalty in a bumper at Worcester and she can't be ruled out either.

WILLIAM CODY has proved a different proposition since being switched to fences and, although 9lb higher for his latest success, he looks to have been found another good opportunity to add to his tally. Full Of Light is entitled to strip fitter for his comeback run/chasing debut at Exeter in November and may have more to offer in this sphere. On Springs needs to put his last two efforts behind him but may prove more competitive now returned to this lower level.

Point-to-point scorer GAELIC PARK ran his best race to date over hurdles when runner-up at Hereford last month and, with his stable in fine form, he looks capable of picking up a race of this nature. Storminhome and Hands Off haven't been disgraced in similar contests and merit consideration, while Spago is entitled to improve for a respectable hurdling debut at Taunton last month.

ARCLIGHT was unchallenged on her most recent outing over 2m at Kempton earlier this month and saw off stiffer competition on her penultimate run over this C&D, so she merits a lot of respect stepping up in grade. She was a useful performer on the Flat for Sir Mark Prescott and can land a hat-trick over timber in this, but the Gordon Elliott-trained Calico finished a far from disgraced third at Punchestown most recently and can give the selection plenty to think about. Greyval finished behind Arclight on her most recent run here and completes the shortlist.

A case can be made for several of these, but none more than the hat-trick seeking XCITATIONS. Pam Sly's inmate bolted up on his most recent outing over an extended 1m7f at Sandown and he could improve again to land this off a 7lb higher mark. Saint Segal is another bidding to secure a treble and he is feared most, ahead of recent Wetherby scorer Malystic, who has to carry the burden of top-weight.

This can go the way of MACAVITY, who has shown a decent level of form on his last two starts and should be well suited by going up in trip on his handicap debut off a mark of 110. The booking of Brian Hughes is another plus and he can see off the likes of C&D winner The Kniphand and Starlyte, who impressed on her first run for the Lucinda Russell stable at Newcastle in November. Curley Finger, Just Jess and What An Ocean complete the shortlist.

Slight preference is for MORANDI SECOND, who showed plenty of promise when second on his hurdling debut at Market Rasen before a respectable fourth at Wetherby last time. A mark of 100 on his handicap bow could prove lenient and he is narrowly preferred to Patient Dream, a very capable gelding on the level, and Clay. Ez Tiger and William Of York can also have a say in proceedings.
