UK Horse Racing Tips: Fairyhouse

The form of BRONN's runner-up spot over a similar trip at this track in November is very strong. He was beaten two and three-quarter lengths by a horse who went on to land a Grade 1 novice chase at Limerick over Christmas. Bronn runs this track well as he won a Grade 2 novice hurdle here in April last year. He holds a host of potential engagements at the Cheltenham Festival. Furthermore, Willie Mullins has a great record in this race. Grandero Bello ran a more than decent race in third on chasing debut at Galway before unseating at Punchestown. Clondaw Hollow is entitled to need this having been off for more than nine months. In addition, this is his chasing debut.

RAZZLE DAZZLE LOVE looks capable of landing a handicap off this kind of mark over fences. The Winged Love mare ran a solid race when third here last time and the two-and-a-half miles then was probably far enough for her. Dropping back in trip should suit and she looks on a nice mark over fences compared to her hurdles rating. Shakeytry was good when winning in Naas last time but an 8lb hike makes life a bit tougher now for the veteran. Union Park was also on the scoresheet last time but this is a better grade of race now. Brideswell Lad was running a big race when falling in Listowel last time and has to be considered. A big drop in trip would be a concern though.

TYRE KICKER brought up plenty of bets with a lovely round of jumping over Tramore's fences. That was a very promising chasing debut and there should be more to come. He won over 3m when hurdling, so this step up in trip shouldn't be an inconvenience. Lizrona won decisively over an extended 3m at Thurles in December. She was then well beaten in Limerick, but the ground was very attritional. She gets blinkers, Michael O'Sullivan claims 5lb and this ground won't be as testing, so she could bounce back. Ballyadam Destiny kept on well for second over shorter in Cork and certainly has claims. Joy Of Life was another chasing debutant to deliver, this time in Cork. This is a marked step up in trip for him. Made In The Woods came in runner-up in his last two starts albeit by very different distances (a neck and 12 lengths). Highstreetfashion disappointed in fourth behind Made In The Woods at Punchestown, but had won his two previous handicap chases.

HALKA DU TABERT galloped home relentlessly in Naas and this longer trip looks sure to suit as she is a former point-to-point winner. The horse she beat by 11 lengths in Naas came out for a very easy victory in Punchestown. The 132-rated Ashroe Diamond is a major threat. She wasn't outclassed in third in Grade 1 company behind top-class sorts in Fairyhouse and Leopardstown. She was a Grade 2 mares' bumper winner at Aintree last season and has plenty of ability. Saylavee looks to have a tough task giving weight away to the field, but she certainly knows where the winning post is. Jetara caught a tartar in Leopardstown, but should have a bright future over hurdles.

Willie Mullins' PARMENION was a ready winner of his sole start on the Flat in France and went off odds-on favourite on Irish debut at Leopardstown last month, but came in third. He is highly likely to improve for that experience and has a tongue-strap fitted. He holds Grade 1 entries at the Cheltenham Festival. Tag Man had no chance with the winner of a maiden hurdle over 2m4f at Leopardstown, but did finish best of the rest in second. The horse that beat him will be moving into Grade 1 company at the Dublin Racing Festival, so there are races to be won with Tag Man. Found A Fifty was an impressive winner of a point-to-point before being beaten into second in a Navan bumper on track debut for Gordon Elliott. He is sent over hurdles and is likely to be heavily involved. His stablemate, newcomer Arabian Diamond, is worth keeping an eye on in the market. Tony's Pet is a potential improver from a debut eighth at Limerick.

MALTON GROOVE may be worth another shot after a disappointing effort here just before Christmas. The Kayf Tara gelding blundered at the first then and was never involved, eventually being pulled up. He had shaped well on his previous outing when fourth to the exciting Hiddenvalley Lake at Naas. That looks like good form in the context of this 'unplaced' event. El Capitaine is another who showed promise in a strong maiden hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas, when fifth to Deep Cave, and looks one for the shortlist here. He would be a poignant winner with his former trainer Andy Lynch passing away last week. I Am Rocco was a moderate enough fourth at Clonmel last time but has to be respected in this grade for Willie Mullins.

Cian Quirke is flying at the minute and may be able to bag another winner here on WAITTILLITELLYOU. Eddie Cawley's charge didn't help himself with a bad mistake early on at Limerick last time and didn't run a bad race in the end to finish fifth to Tomjackwilliam on his seasonal debut. He had been a good winner at Navan last February and could improve a bit from his comeback run. Ottoman Style ran a decent race on his first outing for Dermot McLoughlin in a rated novice hurdle here early last month. He should be suited by stepping back up in trip now. Run For Pat finished last of five in a rated novice hurdle when last seen at Killarney in October. He had been fairly consistent prior to that effort and returning from a bit of a break could do better now.
