This is a good race but I think HOE JOLY SMOKE represents good value for Dan and Harry Skelton. He didn’t go unbacked on his hurdles debut and ran an eye-catching race when second over further here. With a more fluent jump at the last he might have pressed the eventual winner but he lost some crucial momentum before keeping on well. I have no doubt he’ll come on for the experience and if he improves he is going to be right in the mix here.

This drop back to two miles will likely suit and I’m confident he can run a big race. Crebilly obviously has a promising profile as well and travelled strongly into it before perhaps being outstayed in tough conditions over C&D last month. He is also going the right way so should run well. Buckhorn Rocco bumped into Hugos New Horse at Exeter and can improve and Doyen Star is another one that likely has a bright enough future.
