I really liked what I saw from NOTLONGTILLMAY over C&D last time and he still struck me as a horse learning his trade which might sound a bit silly seeing as he went on to win by 16 lengths eased down. He can definitely jump with more fluency and if he is sharper here I don’t think they’ll see which way he goes. Drumbear obviously likes to race forward as he showed when winning on chase debut at Limerick and as much as I respect him I don’t think he is in the same league as the selection. Bear Ghylls obviously did well over hurdles but he is yet to transfer that over fences and was bitterly disappointing again at Uttoxeter last time. Given time since he still looks to have enough to prove. Halo Des Obeaux chased home an improver in Tea For Free at Newbury and should have more to come so might end up being the danger.

I can see ANNAF being subject to strong market support here in the run up to the race. This colt has done nothing but improve this winter making a winning reappearance over C&D last month, eased down in the closing stages. He then clocked a career best leaving rivals standing at Kempton last time and is clearly a sprinter going places. He has likely been trained for this race and it is good to see Mick Appleby with another good one. Summerghand is so hard to knock and with 3 wins from his last 5 starts it is no surprise to see him as the main danger in the betting. If he produces his best back from a short break then he is clearly a danger to all. He has won a couple of times fresh in the past but he doesn’t always fire straight away. Vadream is another one to note as she was highly tried last season and is more than capable at this level.
