Tony Carroll's charge has not been outside the first two in his last five starts and he deserves a change in luck. Recent C&D winner Luxy Lou can also have a say in proceedings.

CHRONOGRAPH looks to be improving and his form figures suggest that a win may be just around the corner, with the slight rise in distance expected to suit. Oyamal wasn't without promise on his first start for new connections at Southwell, while Latin Verse only got motoring late on when making his debut over shorter here last month. Urban Outlook is a newcomer to note coming from a bloodline his trainer knows well.

Now that the penny has dropped for MISS MOONSHINE after a taking success at Kempton, there should be much more to come from Rod Millman's filly, especially as she returns to a C&D she was narrowly denied over on her penultimate start. Arbaawi (third) has just over three lengths to find with the selection on that Kempton run but can't be ruled out, nor can Wolverhampton winner Once Adaay, who makes his handicap debut.

Brains arrives in tremendous form having notched back-to-back successes at Kempton and Chelmsford but having never won from a mark this high, he could prove vulnerable. UNFORGOTTEN hasn't been seen on a racecourse since his Newcastle win in April 2021, but it's interesting that the Godolphin team persist with him and, if he's at the top of his game, an opening mark of 86 might be lenient. Others to note include Starshiba and Tropez Power.

A fairly open contest, in which a chance is taken on RIFFA FORT. Martin Smith's charge was well held in his three qualifying runs, but this handicap debut presents a more suitable opportunity and the unexposed son of Helmet could take a marked step forward. Sundayinmay has been knocking on the door and she's likely to be thereabouts, along with Mafia Power, who is just 1lb above his last winning mark.

The John Butler-trained Inaam is an intriguing contender given he arrives following a decent third on his most recent outing over 7f at Newcastle last month. However, his losing run stretches back to January 2021, so it is easier to side with LOTHIAN. The gelded son of Coach House lost little in defeat when finishing half a length behind the winner over this C&D on his latest run and is fancied to bounce back to winning form. Macon Belle was denied by the narrowest of margins last time and can give the selection plenty to think about.

In a contest lacking depth a chance can be taken with the class-dropping POLITICS, who looked outpaced in a hotter handicap over 6f at Southwell three days ago. Although he remains 3lb above his last winning mark, that success came over this C&D and he should not be taken lightly. Broxi has been running consistently well of late and is feared most, ahead of the Tom Ward-trained Bobby Dassler.
