The way PORTER IN THE PARK travelled through the race before winning here last week was mightily impressive. I had her in my notes after chasing home Endless Escape at Wincanton and she is clearly a mare on the up now. I know she is the short priced favourite but I fully expect her to follow up here. With further improvement expected she should make light work of this. Astra Via is second favourite but she doesn’t find winning easy and I think that tells you about the lack of quality in opposition. Well Vicky goes handicapping now but hasn’t shown enough to warrant backing and it’s a bit of a guessing game with her.

One of the talking horses not only of Leopardstown this week but of Cheltenham too GAELIC WARRIOR should take a lot of beating today. I think it is pretty obvious he is a cut above these and the hat-trick is very much on the cards. Again he is short enough at 11/8 but it is a day where I’m struggling to find anything at decent odds and I’m pretty confident this just goes and wins. I can see him travelling menacingly well before cutting them back late. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of him near the off as even if he drifts it wouldn’t put me off. The danger is likely All Those Years who should leave that Cork run well behind.
