I thought TIGHTENOURBELTS was a real eye-catcher beaten less than 2 lengths at Taunton last time. The winner Timeforatune is a decent horse for Paul Nicholls and he had more experience than the selection and stayed on well. I liked how the front pair came clear though and if he improves again he will take a lot of beating here. Hugos New Horse has won 3 in a row now and going up in trip here if he stays he is definitely the danger. Peace Of Rome looks to be gradually getting the hang of things and shaped well in defeat at Plumpton. He is going the right way but this is a tough enough ask. Pearly Island won nicely at Huntingdon but back in a novice this will be a much sterner test of his credentials and he’ll likely need more. Cedar Row was pulled up at Carlisle and seems to need more time and experience.

Things haven’t gone to plan for FRENCHY DU LARGE in two starts this season taking a tumble at Lingfield and then failing to find fluency when only fourth at Ludlow. He is still lightly raced over fences though and I expect him to come good again at some point. If he can jump better here now back down to his last winning mark then he’ll have a great chance of taking this. Milan Bridge was brought down at Wincanton and has some good form to his name so if bouncing back here could be the danger. Neon Moon fell last time but might see the benefits of a wind op now and can’t be ruled out if jumping better. Le Cameleon weakened quite tamely at Chepstow and fell at Fontwell before that so needs to bounce back to have a chance. Dead Right is an 11yo now and finished last at Doncaster so enough to prove.
