This looks a competitive 0-100 handicap but preference goes to the Milton Harris trained GAVROCHE D'ALLIER (best priced at 5/1) who ran well here when 3rd on his handicap debut. The lightly raced seven-year-old finished well beaten in three maiden/novice hurdles before finishing 3rd on his handicap debut over 2m3½f here a month ago.

Gavroche D’Allier was outpaced at a crucial time when hampered at the second last hurdle before finishing beaten  9 ½ lengths. The handicapper has dropped him 1lb down to a mark of 92 but he crucially now goes up to trip to two furlongs to 2m5½f and he should run well with four places on offer.

The Anthony Honeyball trained KILBEG KING (best priced at 6/4) found Grade 1 company too tough last time in the Challow Hurdle but he should prove hard to beat in this race now dropped in class. The eight-year-old was an impressive winner of a PTP by eight lengths before winning at Uttoxeter bumper by 7 ½ lengths in March 2021. He defied a 596 day break to win a maiden hurdle at Ffos Las by 4 ¾ lengths in November 2020 before finishing a well beaten 6th in the Challow Hurdle behind Hermes Allen last time.

Kilbeg King now drops in class to a Class 4 novice hurdle and he should prove hard to beat despite having to concede a penalty to his main market rival Red Windsor.
