I know GLORY BRIDGE was beaten 21 lengths when second over C&D a couple of weeks ago but that was still a good run and now handicapping he could be one to keep on side. He has only had 4 starts under Rules and clearly he is a work in progress. Theo Gillard claims a handy 3lb and he has more going for him than most in here. The danger as the market is suggesting looks to be Half The Freedom who won nicely over C&D a fortnight ago enjoying better ground.
Jamie Brace has been booked to claim 6lb so that offsets the rise in the weights but losing Kevin Brogan would have to be a negative for me. Bashful wasn’t disgraced when fourth at Kelso last time but does seem to be in the handicappers grip although this faster surface should play to his strengths as well so also noted.

I don’t usually back a horse off the back of a fall but MODREENEY went so well through the race at Taunton that he must be of major interest here. He came down at the last that day and given he is just 1lb higher on what is only his third start in a handicap the best is almost certainly still to come. That was also his first run of the season following a wind op so improvement looks a near certainty to me.
If you couple that with the fact this is a winnable race he becomes a great bet. The danger is probably Knowwhentorun but he was a maiden on the Flat and he is yet to show a great deal over hurdles. He should improve now handicapping but I think he’ll need more time. Auba Me Yang has looked pretty ordinary too but again could take a step forward now handicapping so is also respected.
