He bolted up on his penultimate outing in over 2m5f at Warwick and can bounce back to winning form now back down in grade. Rare Edition is another to bear in mind seeking a fifth consecutive win.

This could go the way of THE WISE TRAVELLER, who can benefit from a marginally stiffer stamina test having kept on for a remote second over an extended 3m at Doncaster last month. He has dropped to 7lb above his last winning mark and is fancied to improve, but Robeam is an interesting contender on his return to timber and can give the selection plenty to think about. San Pedro De Senam was in consistent form in the first half of last year and completes the shortlist as he returns from a layoff off a 5lb lower mark.

GALORE DESASSENCES carries top weight on his return to hurdles after being pulled up over fences on his last start, but he won in taking fashion when last seen over the smaller obstacles in November. He is 12lb higher now but that form still gives him a big shout here. Sonigino was well beaten at Cheltenham in November but that was a stronger contest and he is dropped 2lb in the weights today, with the extra yardage on offer another possible source of improvement. Gipsy De Choisel also steps up in trip for the Nicky Henderson stable and has an each-way chance.

There are quite a few making their first start, the most interesting of those comes in the way of Of Course You Can as a daughter of Yeats with Harry Cobden doing the steering. Another open to improvement and in with a chance is Clararose, who is representing the Dan Skelton yard who won this race last year.
