15:00 Plumpton

The four-timer may well be on the cards for the likeable GLOIRE D’ATHON at Plumpton on Monday. This horse used to be trained by Henry de Bromhead in Ireland but has done well for new connections and showed a good attitude to bring up the hat-trick at Sandown when last seen. He likes going off the front and jumped really well en route to finding more at the finish to prevail by a neck last time. He has been freshened up since and a 3lb rise is unlikely to prevent a bold showing. Lord Baddesley is more than capable at this level and found himself in a good race when fourth behind Balco Coastal at Kempton last time. This is easier and he looks the danger but I’m still not completely sold by his overall profile. Sheldon was well held at Huntingdon but his win at Exeter was impressive so he still might be a player in a race like this.

15:15 Catterick

The hat-trick seeking EL MUCHACHO looks worth siding with again at Catterick on Monday. He did well to get up here last time given the last was omitted and his win prior to that was impressive. He is up 8lb and encounters quicker ground but he is unexposed and looks the one to be on again. Fruit N Nut is lightly raced too and won nicely at Sedgefield so looks the danger up just 4lb. Takeit Easy seemed to need the run when down the field at Cheltenham but that was his first start for 413 days so expect him to strip sharper for that. First Impression ran well when second to Big Boy Bobby at Huntingdon back in December but has been heavily beaten the last twice and needs to get back on track in a big way to be a player in this. Of the rest Didtheyleaveuoutto is down in class but he isn’t getting any younger and is a risky proposition.
