UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

INISHMOT PRINCE made the breakthrough in this very contest 12 months ago and has won four more in the interim, with all his victories coming at Dundalk. James Ryan again takes the ride on the Tom McCourt-trained bay, with the 18-year-old apprentice seen to good affect in recent weeks at Dundalk, partnering three winners since the turn of the year. Collective Power was second to the selection 12-months ago and he re-opposes now. He has won twice since and was second on his most recent start earlier this month. Eddie Lynam trains Collective Power and he is also responsible for Bonny Power, who is given second preference. The 70-rated filly got off the mark over the course and distance just over a fortnight ago and it'll come as little surprise if she manages to follow-up. Tai Sing Yeh warrants respect, despite having to contend with top-weight, while it'll be interesting to see Gidwa, a three-time winner in the UK, fares on his Irish debut.

LILY MAGUIRE has race fitness on her side and gets the nod over Vanguard Star and Goldmile. Beaten a neck into second on her most recent start, the selection drops back in trip now to six-furlongs and it'll be disappointing if she is not involved towards the business end. Vanguard Star is given second preference, with a tongue-strap fitted for the first time. The Joseph O'Brien-trained chestnut has some solid form to his name and is sure to prove popular with punters. Goldmile hasn't been seen since last April but has two solid efforts to her name and rates as a leading contender. Almendares (first time visor) is one of two Andy Slattery hopes set to take part and he looks to have solid claims. Slattery also saddles newcomer Ceres Ring, who is one of six debutants in the line-up and it'll be interesting to see if any of them come alive in the market.

With Wayne Hassett taking a valuable 10lb off, EXCESSO VELOCIDAD looks the one to side with. The only previous winner in the line-up, she was successful over the course and distance in November, finishing fourth on her most recent outing. Distillate is without a win in 13 starts, but has been placed three times. Sixth of 11 in the Birdcatcher at Naas when last seen, she can be expected to go close. Havana Notion showed promise when fourth on his latest outing and it'll be interesting to see how he fares, making his debut in handicap company. American In Paris was 'very unlucky' on debut at Bath in June but she has been disappointing since and failed to make an impact on her first start for Denis Hogan over the course and distance last month. Little Keilee and Californiagoldrush are others for the shortlist.

MACADAM'S ROCK might be able to follow-up on his recent course and distance success. The Fascinating Rock gelding came home a length-and-a-half to the good on his latest visit to Dundalk and went up 6lb for that success. The rise is offset by the 5lb claim of Jake Coen and it'll be disappointing if he is not involved at the business end. Jered Maddox has been in fine form of late and is given second preference. He registered a fourth course success in December and has been placed on his three starts since, going down by just a short head on his penultimate outing. The Bog Bank is another running consistently well in recent times and he should give a good account of himself. Other leading contenders are Miss Abby Jools (first start for Charles Byrnes), Linus Larabee and Scarlet Dancer.

CASH OUT lost out narrowly here last week and can gain compensation. The No Nay Never colt was well fancied on debut but stumbled leaving the stalls and never got involved. He stepped forward considerably from that when second here last Friday and was just nailed on the line by Stormy Entry after doing everything right. Miami Thunder looks the obvious danger having been placed on his two starts. There is collateral form here as he went down by half a length to Stormy Entry on his debut last month. The Kingman colt ran well to finish third to News At Ten last time but didn't really look to progress from his first run. Money for the Dermot Weld-trained newcomer, Real History, would be interesting. The Fastnet Rock colt is the first foal of winning Frankel mare Chateau La Fleur, who is a half-sister to multiple group winner Ernest Hemingway.

BANNED is becoming a touch frustrating but may be worth another shot back up in trip in a weak enough looking event. The Ulysses filly ran well on her first outing for Joseph O'Brien over this mile-and-a-half trip when chasing home impressive winner Make Up Proud. After a couple of decent efforts over the extended ten it didn't work out dropping back to a mile last time. On overall form she has the winning of a race of this standard. She had Wrecking Ball Paul behind when second here on her penultimate outing and can confirm that form. The 70-rated Isotta is another that has to be on the shortlist. She may also appreciate stepping back up to a mile-and-a-half.

There could be more to come from LAKE ILLAWARRA stepping up in trip now. The Australia filly got on top close home when winning over seven furlongs here last month and looked like she would appreciate going further then. A 5lb rise for that win doesn't look harsh. Autocrat ran a nice race on his first outing for Denis Hogan when fifth to News At Ten in maiden company here a fortnight ago. He is another that could come into his own now going a bit further. Dubawi Spectre was another staying on over a mile on his last start here. He is entitled to improve from that outing and could make a bold bid under top-weight.

A few of these have been knocking on the door and GRACESOLUTION may be able to gain a deserved victory. The Notnowcato mare has been collared in the closing stages on her last three outings when finishing runner-up. Dropping back to the extended ten furlong trip here may do the trick. Ghumama has been kept busy here recently and has been holding her form really well with a run of four placed efforts. She steps up in trip now and gained her sole career victory at this trip. Wild Shot returns after a little break and is capable of running well in this company off his current mark.
