Steve Ryder is back with two tips for today's action.
14:10 Punchestown
This Grand National Trial is full of exposed chasers apart from Angels Dawn (best priced at 3/1) who has only had four runs over fences so far in her career. The Sam Curling trained eight-year-old was pitched into strong races on her first two starts over fences where she finished behind Dolcita and Classic Getaway before putting in much improved performances in handicap chases on her latest two starts.
Angels Dawn finished a short head 2nd over 2m7f here off a mark of 118 before winning at Down Royal last time off a mark of 122. The handicapper has raised her 6lbs for that success and I expect her to prove hard to beat with Cian Quirke once again claiming 7lbs.
15:55 Musselburgh
The Nicky Richards trained Hard Iron (best priced at 13/8) is unbeaten in his three starts in handicaps and he is expected to complete a four-timer. The seven-year-old finished well beaten in three maiden/novice hurdles over 2 miles but has proved a different proposition since being upped in trip in handicaps.
Hard Iron won by 4 ¼ lengths at Ayr over 2m3½f off a mark of 84 before following up over the same course and distance off a 7lb higher mark. He completed the hat-trick when returning from an 86 day break at Catterick over 3m1½f where he won impressively by 3 ½ lengths. The handicapper has raised him 7lbs for that victory which is fair and he should still prove ahead of his mark.
