Despite getting beat a fair way into fourth at Ascot last week I thought IVALDI was a bit of an eye-catcher. That was just his second start in a handicap and he still looked a bit rusty to me lacking fluency over his hurdles and shaping as though he’d come on for the run. He clearly has a bit of an engine to keep on like he did and if he is sharper here and slicker over his jumps he should get involved. He runs off the same mark and certainly looks one to be interested in given he isn’t even favourite at the time of writing. Don Hollow impressed with how he got on top at Catterick and looks the obvious danger if improving again from that. This is tougher though so it will be interesting to see how he fares. Scarpia finished a close third behind Itchy Feet at Huntingdon and is another one that could get competitive. Halo Des Obeaux is a stablemate to the selection but has plenty to prove back over hurdles here.
