BOOTHILL was beaten at odds-on when having to settle for second behind Tommy's Oscar in the Lightning at Doncaster, but can improve on that here. After chasing Jonbon home in the Henry VIII, he stayed on strongly to land the Wayward Lad over 2m here over Christmas, and his Grade 2 penalty may not hold him back. Datsalrightgino kept on well to fill the runner-up spot over this trip in a good Cheltenham handicap and is feared ahead of Solo, who can also have a say in proceedings.

A case can be made for plenty of these, including the grade-dropping Saint Calvados, who was well beaten into fourth in the Silviniaco Conti at this track last month. He can improve at this level, but ANNSAM bolted up over C&D on the same card and will be hard to peg back once more. He is rated 7lb higher, but that may not be enough to hold him back given he scored by 17 lengths. The 2022 winner Cap Du Nord is turned out quickly following last week's Ascot triumph, while Our Power arrives fresh and adds further spice to the mix.

A chance is taken on UKANTANGO, who was pulled up on unsuitably soft ground in the Tolworth but had shown excellent form prior to that. A winner of three of his five starts under Rules and runner-up in a strong Grade 2 at Cheltenham in November, he is preferred to Hansard, who did it well under a penalty at Plumpton but needs to brush up on his jumping. Runner-up over C&D before struggling in the Betfair Hurdle, Rubaud has the form to get involved as well.

This can go the way of the unexposed DON HOLLOW, who got the job done nicely at Catterick last time out and should have more improvement forthcoming over this longer trip. A mark of 120 on his handicap debut could prove lenient and he gets the vote ahead of Ivaldi, who ran with credit at Ascot last week, as well as the returning hat-trick seeker Will Carver. Lock's Corner and Scarpia are entitled to be thereabouts as well.

The revised terms suggest it will be a lot closer between QUICK DRAW and Kap Auteuil after they were the first two across the line in a decent handicap chase over C&D last month. However, DANCING IN BRAZIL drops from Listed company and that Cheltenham third sets the bar too high to ignore. Emailandy, a half-brother to Listed bumper/Grade 2 chase winner Charbel, is another to consider.
