Fortuna Ligna is a mare that I think will come good sooner rather than later but the bookies are taking no chances with her and there is little value in backing her as the 3/1 favourite. There is definitely good reason to oppose and I like MISTRAL NELL in opposition. She did well in bumpers and ran her best race over hurdles when fourth at Wetherby at the start of the month. She just didn’t seem to have the pace to land a telling blow so this step back up to 2 and a half miles looks a good move. She should be fitter too and now handicapping we should see the best of her. Last Of A Legend won at Bangor back in the summer a bounced back from being pulled up at Hereford to finish fourth at Taunton so also has to be respected. Blue Bikini sprung a surprise when winning at Taunton but is up 4lb and the feeling is she might be left vulnerable.
