This is quite a tricky race as obviously Chase A Fortune sets the standard and should run well but I’m keen to side with the potential of THE COX EXPRESS and I think he could be up to making a winning start over hurdles. He was given enough to do on debut in a bumper at Warwick but showed a real likeable attitude to run down Yonconor and struck me as a horse that could have quite a nice future over obstacles. He still looked quite raw when he hit the front the last day which was to be expected and there should be lots of improvement to come now. Virtuoso was beaten a long way on debut at Kempton but did bump into Arclight who is obviously a promising horse. She should improve from that but she will certainly need to if she is to mix it with the pair mentioned above. Bugle Major is also interesting now sent hurdling.

Ramensky was obviously impressive with how he swept into the lead from off the pace at Wolverhampton and he has to be feared but this is tougher and I’m surprised to see him favourite. The unbeaten FRENCH INVASION looks a nice colt in the making and following that easy debut win at Kempton he was always finding more to follow up at Lingfield last time. He goes handicapping now and is open to further improvement and I think that likeable attitude could see him bring up the hat-trick. I actually think Mighty River could pose the biggest threat as he seemed to be at a disadvantage when he came wide at Wolverhampton last month and that was still a good effort only beaten a length by Tabaretta. If he reproduces that sort of form he should be bang there at the finish and ask the most questions of the selection.
