I thought NAASER was hugely eye-catching on debut as this son of New Bay did plenty wrong and still managed to finish second. He was badly squeezed when coming out the stalls and got caught further back than ideal in the early stages. He seemed to be having a good look about in the race before eventually realising what was required and staying on strongly for second. Even when he was closing late he looked a bit clueless and I jotted him down in my notes as one that will improve a ton for the run. There could be one or two nice types in here so he will need to come on from that but with Oisin Murphy taking over in the saddle I expect him to be popular. The danger could be the Charlie Hills colt Ghost Lights who built on his debut run to finish fifth at Southwell. This extra furlong should help and if he settles better he should make a race of it.

Night Of Thunder filly Choisya is the only winner in the field so she will likely prove popular here but there might be value in taking her on with JUST BRING IT for Clive Cox. This good looking son of Harry Angel caught the eye running on well behind Tabaretta at Wolverhampton when last seen. The winner has proved himself to be a nice type winning again since and so the form has been strongly franked. The selection tackles this surface for the first time and off just a 3lb higher mark I’d have him much closer in the betting to the favourite. Tomahawk King clearly needed a stronger gallop when only fifth behind Little Edi here last time and while he still has potential there is no obvious pace on here so tactically he may be left vulnerable once more. It is still early days for Ray Of Colours but he has been gelded so don’t completely write him off here.
