LONE STAR looks a mare on the up after gaining a third success since Boxing Day when landing a class 5 contest at Newcastle, and an 8lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent another bold bid. Spot On Soph is feared most after finishing second to a subsequent winner at Sedgefield in December and she should be able to pick up a race off this mark sooner or later. Handicap debutant Sweet Magic is another to note with her opening rating appearing workable.

Cuban Cigar has posted some sound efforts in defeat over C&D and should be in the mix once more.
