UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

TAI SING YEH is dependable, very able at this level and comes here in excellent form. Now a nine-year-old, he is holding form, ran well in a good handicap last week and is well suited by this distance. Stablemate Inflection Point is similarly capable and while well held on his latest two starts, met trouble last week over a mile and will be better suited by six furlongs. Jawwaal has done most of his racing in recent years over five furlongs but did win over seven in 2018, has recently joined a new yard and has shown useful form.

HEARTRATE hasn't run since September and debuts on the all-weather but was capable last autumn. He showed promise when racing green on debut and bumped into a smart winner at Cork, with the third-placed horse (three lengths behind) subsequently winning a maiden. His trainer's two recent runners have both won. Almendares has useful C&D form, which is a big plus, but nonetheless is vulnerable to more capable types and has a wide draw. Zero Fighter showed promise wearing his tongue-tie on debut recently and while he needs to improve to win, drops markedly in distance. Un Bacio Ancora has recent C&D form but is a 14-race maiden who needs to improve. Twilight Steel is best watched on his return having been bought for 5,000 pounds last October.

BURREN SONG has good recent handicap form and has proven stamina. His only win was over 1m2f, but he ran well when finishing third to smart hurdler Anna Bunina over 1m6f last August and is well suited by this surface. December's course winner Dancing Tango was reported to have hung left when beaten into fourth in a recent handicap but steps up in distance and, being by Camelot, should get this longer distance. Joupe has proven stamina and is versatile ground-wise but lacks a recent run, while Dartan hasn't run for 304 days but cannot be dismissed because he is well suited by staying distances and this surface. Elzaamsan, the first runner for the new Halford/Collins outfit, steps up in distance. The Jam Man was well held over C&D last month, while Khadaash has form and steps up in distance but was well held in bumpers.

DELUCA CHOP landed an inspired gamble to win here last week and can defy his 5lb penalty, competing over a distance which might suit him even better. A three-time winner in France, his rating fell from 71 in September to 58 last week when staying on late, off a strong pace, to win. His French form is over middle-distances and today's same rider claims an extra 3lb here. Dark Street has held his form well and while a keen-goer, is nonetheless interesting on his first attempt at this distance. Seven-time-winning seven-year-old No Trouble continues in form and is helped by his rider's 7lb claim. Turf Range has claims but isn't ahead of the handicapper.

ALAZNE progressed well to finish third last week and could be suited by this extra distance. Out of a sister to top miler Rock Of Gibraltar and by sprinter Caravaggio, she is nonetheless a half-sister to two capable jumps horses so has stamina in her pedigree and can progress further. Segomo returned from a 245-day absence when running well over C&D last month but while likely to again run well, is vulnerable to progressive types and runs in first-time cheekpieces. Tabuk probably needs to improve but steps up in distance, while Jalo rises in trip from his juvenile year but lacks a run. Best Guess is a sibling to two French winners, while Votre Homme is a half-brother to four Flat winners and another jumps winner.

CAIRO, a 33/1 chance for the 2,000 Guineas, was beaten on his only start here and reappears under top weight, but has the ability to win. He was beaten by smart filly Spirit Gal here last September, but won the Killavullen Stakes subsequently and is clear by 8lb and more on adjusted ratings, with Ryan Moore riding. Tiverton was capable last summer but has 10 lengths to find with the selection on Killavullen form. Stormy Entry beat Cash Out by a short head last month and is now 3lb better off but while both have a fitness edge, they step up in grade. News At Ten and Miss Caruso are other recent C&D maiden winners who step up markedly in grade. All Things Nice is second-best on adjusted ratings but disappointed in August and reappears in a first-time tongue-tie.

JERED MADDOX has an excellent all-weather record and can defy a 5lb rise for a recent C&D win. That was in a lower grade but he previously chased home Mulgrave in early February, with that horse winning twice more subsequently. Solar Breeze gained a first win on her all-weather debut last month and while interesting reverting to handicaps, she also drops a furlong. Macadam's Rock was a C&D winner in February but was beaten two lengths by the selection, on identical terms, a fortnight ago. Six-time all-weather winner Rocky Dreams was third to Mulgrave recently, while Free Solo, once rated 100, debuts for new connections over a suitable distance and surface. Punk Poet has a good course record but is long absent, while Might And Mercy was well enough held in first-time cheekpieces recently. Seven furlongs stretches Gobi Star's stamina, while Half Nutz, who debuts for new connections, is largely untested on the all-weather. Shanghai Dragon's rider claims 10lb and she can progress from a recent reappearance.

HAVANA NOTION was a well-backed beaten favourite last month but steps up a furlong, which could suit. A sibling to nine winners, including at Group 3 and Listed level, his maiden form was ordinary and he is drawn wide, but showed improvement when staying on nicely at the finish last month. Bright Dick has done most of his racing over C&D and ran well when second from 1lb lower last month, beating Pub Talk into third. Knockmore Prince showed improvement on his reappearance/handicap debut over C&D and can continue to progress. Alfarida is consistent in handicaps but might find a few too strong, while Memorial Verse is out of a Group 3 winner and drops in grade on her handicap debut. Distillate and Little Keilee were fourth and fifth respectively behind the selection last month, while Twentynine Palms runs in her first handicap wearing first-time cheekpieces.
