Steve Ryder is back with two tips for today's action.
15:00 Huntingdon
The Dr Richard Newland trained Rewired (best priced at 9/4) is the only course winner in the field and I hope this consistent gelding can gain a fifth career victory. The five-year-old has form figures of 2421331222 since joining this stable including a course and distance victory by a short head in November.
That victory came off a mark of 110 under Luke Scott and Rewired has since finished runner-up three times at Kelso, Musselburgh and Bangor off a mark of 112. The handicapper has raised him 2lbs for his latest effort where he would have finished closer than the finishing margin of 5 ½ lengths without a bad mistake at the final hurdle. Luke Scott takes back over on board claiming 7lbs and I expect him to be involved in the finish once again.
15:35 Huntingdon
This looks a competitive 0-125 handicap chase but preference goes to the Tom Lacey trained Dibble Decker (best priced at 7/2) who won over this course and distance in January when fitted with first time cheekpieces. That was only his third run over fences and the headgear really appeared to help his jumping.
Dibble Decker won by ½ length at the finish from Ozzie Man (who failed to give his running next time) and the pair pulled 6 ½ lengths clear of the third. The handicapper has raised him only 3lbs which seems lenient and I expect him to run well under regular rider Stan Sheppard.
