Things didn’t go to plan for THISTLE ASK on handicap debut last time but judging on the promise he showed when splitting subsequent winners over C&D before Christmas he could well be worth another chance. He was well backed last time but looked outpaced throughout before being eased. Back in a maiden hurdle he will find this easier and if bouncing back may well prove the one they all have to beat. Bellaney Lord unseated at Down Royal and then suffered a heavy defeat here last month jumping right throughout. He is better than that but plenty to prove and I’m surprised how short he is in the betting. Whitehaven was a fairly useful stayer on the Flat and could end up being a bigger danger if building on that debut third. He failed to build on that last time but it is still early days.

After a spell in the doldrums DYNAKITE has really returned to form of late winning gamely over a mile at Kempton back in January and then backing that up missing by just a nose at Southwell last time. This 5yo by Adaay gets to run off the same mark and in what looks to be a winnable race should be going close. This extended 1m1f looks ideal and I think it represents a decent opportunity. City Escape operates well over this C&D and could be the danger but she couldn’t find any more when held in fifth last time and needs more to come out on top. Captain St Lucifer doesn’t find winning easy but has been knocking on the door of late and is another one to note. Boy George has some decent form to his name and ran well at Goodwood on penultimate start but is likely to come on for the run here and is probably best watched for now.
