This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap but preference goes to the hat-trick seeking ANGLE LAND (best priced at 15/2). The Robert Cowell trained four-year-old has been running consistently well in a visor with form figures of 332211 since the application of that specific headgear. She won at Wolverhampton on her penultimate start off a mark of 68 by ¾ length under Hayley Turner before following up over this course and distance last time off a mark of 72.

The handicapper has raised Angle Land 3lbs for that ½ length success which seems very fair as the second that day Miss Belladonna has won her next start since and is now rated 3lbs higher herself. Hayley Turner takes back over on board and I she should run well with up to five places on offer.

Angle Land - 0.5pts e/w

The James Fanshawe trained COMPLIANT (best priced at 3/1) has consistent form figures of 121 in handicaps and she should hold strong claims once again in this race. The lightly raced four-year-old ran with credit in three novice/maiden races over 7f and a mile before making a winning handicap debut over this course and distance in November off an opening mark of 70. She won well by two lengths that day so it was a surprise to see her beaten next time at Wolverhampton off only a 4lb higher mark.

Compliant she bounced back next time with a win at Kempton over 1m3f off the same mark and the handicapper has raised her 3lbs for that victory. Her most impressive performance came at Newcastle so we know she handles the track and hopefully she can continue her progress.
