GYTO's Saturday Notebook Double pays 10/1.
13:15 Sandown
With 2 wins from 3 starts over hurdles the progressive SPIRIT D’AUNOU can win again at Sandown on Saturday. He bumped into Jupiter Allen who was heavily supported at Carlisle the other day before that meeting was abandoned. He then improved to beat Tintintin who I know Fergal O’Brien thinks a fair bit of and then came forward again to win head in chest at Ludlow. He can still jump better so if he is more fluent here the hat-trick should be possible on handicap debut. Jilaijone wasn’t disgraced here last month and that looks solid form too. He could have more to come so looks the danger. Of the rest it is early days for Jikala. She showed promise in a maiden hurdle at Hereford and won’t mind it if the ground deteriorates so definitely one to note in opposition but probably needs more time and experience.
15:15 Wolverhampton
The way BERKSHIRE PHANTOM swept past the field over C&D last time was quite impressive and he just had to lengthen his stride to go on and win with a bit in hand. The penny seems to have dropped now and up just 3lb with further improvement to come he could bring up the hat-trick with Oisin Murphy taking over. Golden Passport improved from his debut run to win at this track back in September last year and then ran well behind Imperial Ace at Newcastle. He has more to come now handicapping and looks the obvious danger to the selection. With Odin Owns You All now out He’s A Monster might be the one to fare best of the rest. He looked quite a nice prospect bolting up on debut and then was highly tried in Ireland when last seen. He has more to come but the market should prove informative.
