I was keen to side with BARNABAS COLLINS at Carlisle earlier in the week only for that meeting to get abandoned. This is probably a little tougher but even still he looks to have pressing claims. This son of Shantou was picked up by connections after winning a bumper at Carlisle over 2 years ago now. Things didn’t go to plan initially as he fell on debut over hurdles and then was pulled up at Wetherby. Given time he returned with a creditable run at Market Rasen finishing midfield behind the promising Chasing Fire. He improved to run his best race to date when second to Faithfulflyer at Kelso and then finished behind the right two horses at Bangor which included stablemate Hidalgo De L’isle. I think he is well handicapped off a mark of 103 and he should run a big race. The danger is probably Gift Of Raaj who has confidence high after winning at Doncaster and likely has more to come now in a handicap.
