EXTRAORDINARY MAN showed plenty of promise when second of three on his chasing debut over C&D last month and the switch to handicap company could see him go one better here. Master Malcolm may prove to be the main threat to the selection based on his placed effort at Huntingdon last time, although First Angel cannot be discounted on his return to action.

In a moderate contest, it is very hard to oppose ARCADE ATTRACTION, who bounced back to form with an impressive victory at Fontwell a month ago. A 7lb rise may not be enough to stop the nine-year-old if he can repeat that performance. Pawpaw has made the frame on his last couple of starts and edges out Relkadam to be the pick of the remainder.

Whistleinthedark beat his only rival comfortably in a novice chase at Wetherby, but he is no less than 21lb higher than when striking in a Market Rasen handicap prior to that and may prove worth taking on. DOCTOR KEN lost little in defeat when finishing second to a subsequent winner at Ayr in November and Olly Murphy's inmate may make light work of a 3lb rise. Jacamar found the Grade 3 Coral Trophy at Kempton beyond him, but he is only 2lb higher than for his C&D win prior to that.

CRYSTAL MOON came good at the second time of asking over fences, winning at Huntingdon on Boxing Day, and a 7lb rise may not be enough to halt his progress. Big Changes scored by six lengths over C&D last week and Laura Morgan's inmate looks the biggest threat under his penalty. The progressive Mixedwave is another obvious contender after supplementing a C&D victory at Market Rasen.

This 2m is going to test most of these, but ESPOIR DE TEILLEE appears to retain plenty of quality and is taken to register a second consecutive victory at this venue. Mister Whitaker had to settle for third on his return at Bangor, but he's entitled to come on for that effort. A bigger threat may still emerge in the shape of Fier Jaguen, who has been in fine form between the flags.
