This looks a great chance for LAND LEGEND to get his head in front. He left his first two starts miles behind to go close at huge odds at Southwell when last seen and now handicapping stepping up to a mile and a quarter for the first time we should see better from him again. He is by Galileo so is obviously bred to be pretty smart and after a slow start last time you could visually see the penny drop doing all his best work late so I expect him to relish the extra yardage here.

His opening mark doesn’t look too stiff and he will likely be a warm order come post time. Bint Al Daar has shown promise in three starts to date and could be the danger now handicapping. Alumnus has been gelded ahead of his handicap debut but might be up against it even with the potential of a soft lead.

Billy Loughnane is back from his trip Stateside and he is proving tremendous value for his 5lb claim. He rides FIRST EMPEROR at Kempton on Wednesday night and this colt should take a bit of beating. He needed his first run for this yard having come over from Ireland but quickly improved to win at Lingfield and then followed up over C&D back in January. He bumped into the improving Fleurman and then got going too late last time. With that handy 5lb claim off his back now he looks to have found a decent opportunity to get his head back in front. Diamond Bay was well backed and travelled strongly into it when fourth here last time but he didn’t find much at the finish and will need more to win this. Military Two Step was behind the selection back in January but likely won’t be far away either.
