UK Horse Racing Tips: Dundalk

SAM'S XPRESS got a fair hike for his win here last month but may be able to go in again. The Fulbright gelding looked a different proposition that day compared to his juvenile runs and made all for a cosy victory. He shouldn't be inconvenienced by dropping back a furlong now and can defy that 13lb rise. Taking 5lb off his back is a help. Elanora has been dropped 5lb over the winter and she could play a part on her return. Scarlet Dancer has been knocking on the door, but dropping back to 5f would be a slight concern.

C&D winner NO TROUBLE may prove the safest bet here. He has been running with credit in handicap company and this looks a winnable opportunity now. Dash Of Spice has an official mark of 83 but it's hard to get excited about his two runs since joining James McAuley. He may do better now dropped in grade. Colin Keane has been booked for another of the McAuley runners in Madame Peltier and, likewise, she may improve a bit having been well beaten in a hot conditions race first time up for the yard.

NEVERFINDANOTHER U stepped up on previous form when losing out to the well-backed Deluca Chop here last month and can go one better now. The Dragon Pulse filly is still relatively unexposed after just five runs and, off a 2lb higher mark, has a big shout. Three-time C&D winner Kartayaz weakened after making the running here last time but has to be respected in a moderate enough looking contest. Wootton Babble hasn't performed too badly in maiden company here on her last couple of outings and may get closer now back in a low-grade handicap.

ROMAN BULL didn't help 10lb claimer Jamie-Lee Gonet here last time when hanging to his left in the closing stages and if he stays straighter today, he looks to have a big chance of giving her a first winner. The Teofilo gelding travelled best turning for home and disputed over a furlong out before finishing second to Turf Range. He is fancied to turn the tables on that rival, who got an 8lb hike for his victory. Emperor Of Silk, who was third in that race, reopposes on the same terms and is another who has to be on the shortlist.

Three C&D winners do battle in a decent little heat and CATHERINE OF SIENNA looks the pick at the weights. The U S Navy Flag filly gained some valuable experience against battle-hardened older sprinters here last month and that will stand to her. She had won her two previous starts and, off a mark of 86, she comes out best at these weights. Vanguard Star has the same rating but has to give a couple of pounds to the filly. The Starspangledbanner gelding opened his account in good style last month and should hold Almendares, who chased him home then and has gone on to win since.

DREAM TODAY may be able to bag a follow-up triumph here. The Dream Ahead gelding won a competitive event here last month and this doesn't look quite as strong a race. Despite carrying 5lb more now, he is fancied to secure a third C&D win. Lovely Mana ran a nice race when staying on to take third late behind Mehman over five here early last month and should appreciate going an extra furlong. She could be the danger. Inflection Point bounced back to winning ways in a claimer last time but this looks tougher.

KNOCKMORE PRINCE has been knocking on the door and may be able to gain a deserved win. The Dragon Pulse gelding has been runner-up here on his last two visits and only lost out by a nose to Distillate 13 days ago. A 2lb rise for that effort gives him a chance. Pub Talk has to carry a 7lb penalty for landing a claimer here six days ago and that leaves him with a welter burden. Dan King's 5lb claim alleviates it a bit, but he still has to give plenty of weight to his rivals. Alfarida wasn't too far behind the selection when seventh to Distillate last time and with Robert Whearty taking 7lb off now, she's another in with a shout.

JAZZ DREAMERS ran well off the same mark here last month and may be able to go a couple of places better now. The Red Jazz gelding held every chance when his rider dropped his whip over a furlong from home and had to settle for third behind Arcanears in the closing stages. Colin Keane takes the mount again on Royal Tribute, who was a close fourth off this mark here last time, and he looks a potential danger. Evening Verse has been knocking on the door here lately and is another who has to come into calculations.
