DARE TO SHOUT was bought for 50,000 pounds shortly after winning a point-to-point contest at Knockmullen House in November and he has made a bright start under NH rules, chasing home the high-class Colonel Harry before scoring easily at Kelso. He remains open to plenty of further improvement and can see off Sleeping Satellite, who was more workmanlike when winning on his second start over timber at Carlisle. Chapel Green looks best of the remaining pair.

Hard to rely on any of these, but ONESOC came good on just his fourth start over fences at Southwell recently and stepping up half a mile is unlikely to bother him. A 4lb rise looks fair and he makes slightly more appeal than Here We Have It, who won himself at Southwell two starts ago but then pulled up when sent off favourite at the same venue last time. Gold Emery also has a squeak.

A chance is taken on WAR SOLDIER, who impressed with wins both here and at Haydock before struggling in Grade 2 company at Cheltenham last time. Dropped in both trip and class for his handicap debut, he is fancied to bounce back to form. Albert's Back also has his sights lowered, after disappointing at Haydock, and warrants respect, while Thereisnodoubt and Stainsby Girl are others to watch out for.

OMAR MARETTI was never a factor in the Grand National Trial at Haydock, but he was fancied for it thanks to a solid third behind two progressive novices on his return at Ayr. Alex Hales reaches for the cheekpieces now and hopefully they help him recapture the form that made him so promising last season. The ever-reliable Geryville is an obvious threat and was ahead of Small Present when they took minor honours at Market Rasen on Boxing Day. Bavington Bob failed to complete the Eider course and will be much happier here.

All three of CATLIN's career triumphs have come over C&D, including in this race two years ago, and she can extend her unbeaten record after possibly finding 3m-plus beyond her at Southwell and Catterick. Nick Kent's mare should be able to dictate terms to suit herself and will be hard to peg back. Maid Of Houxty is a better chaser than she was a hurdler, picking up some place money this season, and a similar fate could await her. To The Limit completes the shortlist.

He is fancied to improve from his most recent showing, while Eloi Du Puy completes the shortlist.

MARCH WIND made a pleasing start to her racing career when keeping on for second over this trip at Wetherby in January, and she is entitled to shed her maiden tag at the second time of asking. She is fairly well related and can make her presence felt, but Lunar Chief's dam was a dual bumper winner and he should not be taken lightly on his debut. Air Of Approval also warrants a market check.
